Obituary for Henry Powers Jr.
Dr. Henry Stephen “Steve” Powers Jr. died peacefully in Ocala, Florida on January 10, 2018 at the age of 90.
Steve is survived by his wife, Betty Ann; children, Steve (Robin) Powers III, Crofton, Kentucky; Cissy (Don) McMillen, Ocala; Lisa (Mike) Muldoon, Ocala; and Karl (Willow) Powers, Anchorage, Alaska. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Steve was born on September 7, 1927 in Lake Orion, Michigan to Henry and Bertha Powers. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Denistry. He married Betty Ann Roth in 1954, then the two moved to Ocala, Florida in 1955, to begin what became a 40 year Dental Practice. He leaves a legacy of four children, thirteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Steve was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, a Boy Scout Master, a board member of the Florida Trail Association, Chairman of the Ocala Housing Authority, board member of the Florida State Dental Association, and a fifty year member of the Ocala Kiwanis Club.
Services will be held at Maricamp Road Church of Christ, 2750 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, Florida, Friday, January 12, 2018. Visitation will be at 2:00 pm, memorial service at 3:00 pm, followed by reception in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Marion County.
